Douchebag

David Schuler is Gail's ex husband. He is also known by the celebrity-sounding pseudonym she has given him on her website, Stuart Pohlman. The men also refer to him as the Robot Duck or David Duck.

Gail met David at South Dade Baptist Church in 1981. Gail insists that their dates were talk only, and that to prevent premarital sex, they never had any physical exchanges of affection. Gail presumably lost her virginity on April 20th, 1985 when the couple was married. Interestingly, despite being married they still slept in two separate beds that were placed next to each other.

David was the one that gave Gail her first Jack Chick exposure. He gave her Jack Chick's tape Smokescreen and some of his comics including Alberto, and The Godfathers.

Turned Evil

In 1986, while on Coast Guard duty to Antarctica on his ship The Glacier, David was replaced by his Jesuit clone. Rather than being replaced all at once, this was done piece by piece, so he gradually became more evil over time. The new David was an emotionally cold douchebag that never supported Gail, and made love to her like a robot duck. He refused to pay for unnecessary medical treatments and homeopathic medicines, which Gail considered abuse. At some point he wound up banning her from watching Star Trek and destroyed tapes she had recorded of Brent Spiner.

The conception of Erich Schuler was entirely David's idea, which Gail thought was part of a scheme to destroy her.

Gail later concluded that by staying in the marriage with David, she would eventually die.

Battle with the Disease

When David found out from a social worker that Gail believed she was in love with a Star Trek character, he thought the romance was actually real. He threatened to divorce her for having an affair, and wrote Brent Spiner a nasty letter threatening to give him "bad press".

While my son was in the hospital, my son's pediatrician wanted me to see the hospital's social worker because she felt I looked too tired and insinuated I neglected my son. Actually, the Jesuits used her to sabotage my love for Brent.

So I revealed to a social worker at the Seattle Children’s Hospital my love for Brent under strict confidentiality, though I didn’t use the word “love”. In November 1993, my husband received something from our health insurance, that stated that some social worker had talked with me in July 1993, and filed a report. This social worker felt I had mental problems because I believed I was having an affair with a Star Trek character. It probably didn’t help that I told the social worker about my history of manic depression. The manic depression was a misdiagnosis, but I'd figure this out years later. I recall the social worker gave me the name of a local psychiatrist, if I decided I needed to see him.

When my husband read the insurance paperwork (late November 1993) about how this hospital social worker felt I had a mental illness (because he said I claimed to love a Star Trek character), he exploded, and demanded I give him Brent’s fan mail address. He then wrote Brent a cheap and nasty letter, where he threatened to give Brent bad press--just what the Jesuits wanted and needed, for their next move. I promised the Jesuit (after he threatened me with divorce because of this) that I wouldn’t write Brent anymore. But I lied sort of, because I mailed my letters to Brent indirectly through his female co-star.

It took a month, but this letter from David resulted in an eventual response from Paramount lawyers explaining that Brent Spiner had never written Gail, and included a warning to the Schulers to never write them again. Regardless, during the month it took for the response from Paramount to come in, Gail still continued to sneak letters to Brent in spite of her own, actual husband confronting her about having an affair and threatening her with divorce over it. Gail twisted the truth, promising David that she wouldn't write Brent Spiner anymore. Instead, she simply found a way to do it indirectly.

I promised the Jesuit (after he threatened me with divorce because of this) that I wouldn’t write Brent anymore. But I lied sort of, because I mailed my letters to Brent indirectly through his female co-star. I just let my letters pile up and mailed them to Gates McFadden (Brent’s co-star on Star Trek: The Next Generation) and knew she’d give all my mail to Brent. I mailed my letters off to Gates once a week, instead of every day, and I asked her to give all my mail to Brent.

What makes this situation particularly raw is that Gail wasn't so much trying to maintain a relationship with David or fearing his loss. She had made it very clear that she wished she could leave David and marry Brent throughout the entire ordeal. Gail was only trying to hold on to her marriage for the monetary support, as exampled by the following passage from her website (where she was confronting Brent about Loree McBride).

How dare you have a girlfriend, when I have no job and depend totally on my husband for support and you know that I’ve risked everything to maintain my communication with you!

David eventually grasped the concept of schizophrenia and started working with a psychiatrist for Gail. At some point however, it all became too much. While on deployment, David sent a legal representative to the house to serve Gail with divorce papers. Included in the document as to reasons for the divorce was her mental illness. Later during their divorce case, David presented the original evidence from the social worker at the hospital to illustrate Gail's mental illness and concerns for her ability to raise a child, which eventually granted him full custody of Erich Schuler. Gail was offered the chance to see her son without supervision if she would agree to take her medications, but she refused, and simply chose to never see Erich.

David Duck

David Schuler would return to torment Gail in 2012. David began making threats to sue Gail for defamation, even though this would have been technically impossible, since absolutely nothing contained on any websites involving Gail fell under the legal description of defamation. Nevertheless, Gail was spooked, and started censoring information regarding David and her relatives. She removed all references to his name on her website, and several Youtube videos.

This was not good enough for David. Having a poor understanding of the Internet, he continued to attack Gail over what was then a miniscule and unpopulated page about him on Crazy Gail Wiki, which Gail had no control over. Meanwhile, he refused to communicate at all with the actual owners of Crazy Gail Wiki, who politely offered to speak to his lawyer in place of Gail. It turns out he did not have a lawyer, and was terrified of confrontation with someone who wasn't a defenseless mentally ill woman. David hired Legal Shield, a paid nastygram service that employs lawyers at an hourly rate to write threatening legal letters, and began sending them to Gail. Used to getting what he wants by summoning authority figures to make himself look bigger, he was infuriated when this failed to work.

At a loss, David decided to play dirty. Instead of dropping the issue and leaving it alone, he took the attacks one step further and tried to get Gail fired from WalMart as punishment. He called up her place of work, whined to them about her website and threatened to sue WalMart, injuring himself two fold by not only embarrassing himself, but essentially opening up a legit case of actual defamation on himself that Gail could sue him for.

Roughly two weeks after David had started making threatening calls to her employers, Gail was fired from WalMart.

David E-mails

An outline of events as detailed through the following e-mail exchanges can be viewed below.

The first message from David was a threat sent via the Church of Gail fanmail section.

Since David appeared to be unaware that the Church of Gail website is not owned or run by Gail, Brent Spiner extends diplomacy toward David. He cleverly conveys that the websites are for play and offers to mediate with David. He places himself as the representative party of any legal trouble that arises.

David refuses to talk to Brent. Instead, he calls Gail's mother and involves her whole family.

Gail does everything within her own ability to please David. He continues to threaten her over something not of her control.

David starts after Gail with lawyer letters. Note: He would later deny doing this.

David calls WalMart, then calls Gail's mother again to tell her that he did. Note: As with the legal letters, David would also deny doing this later.

Gail, now helpless to do anything further after clearing David's name from everything she owns, receives more lawyer letters from David. Gail contacts David's lawyer to explain the situation and what action she has already taken to appease David. Despite her nerves, she tries to take Brent's advice to ignore what David is doing.

In attempt to mitigate the situation, Zack Knight called David to figure out what was going on. There had been confusion as to whether David realized that he was attacking the wrong person. When Zack found out that David was very aware that Gail had nothing to do with it, and was taking it out on her anyway, Zack became angry and put himself in front of Gail. He then green lights David as a new target of the Jesuit Order. David is frightened and incensed, and tells Gail what happened, blaming her now for the calls he received from her friends sticking up for her.

David continues to threaten Gail's employers and coworkers. Gail is fired from WalMart.

David was ultimately unable to do anything to Gail, or the men, due to a lack of legal support, and was satisfied once she lost her job. Gail's sister Sandra Metcalf, however, was still riled up from the incident, leading to a plot one month later to get Gail locked away at Circles of Care. Due to Sandra's close involvement with David just prior to this happening, it has been speculated that David was involved in setting this up as well.

Seeing that David went far enough to involve Gail's whole family and place of employment in his drama spiel, Gail now lives in fear that he will always be waiting for another opportunity to hurt her again, to the point she feels she will have to keep her employment a secret in the future.

In the call, Zack makes David aware that Gail is not in charge of Crazy Gail Wiki, to which David admits that he knew this all along, despite the fact that he had been threatening Gail with it this whole time, and lying to her family and employers saying that she had created it. Zack insists that instead of bullying Gail, that David should come after him, and invites him to send his lawyer letters to his house instead. David is hesitant, but warns Zack that he has lawyers working on the situation and that Zack and his friends would be in prison soon.

In a humorous turn of events, Zack Knight would be spoofing the number of David's lawyer, and David, forgetting which lawyers he was actually working with at the time (he was using a paid nastygram service that hires random lawyers to send out letters on a commission basis; he never actually met any of them), mistakes the name and number as belonging to Zack Knight. Whether he ever called the number back is uncertain.

The Jesuits posted a theatrical audio transcript of the call on the Order of the Jesuits YouTube Channel where Zack Knight the Antichrist was depicted firing David from the Jesuit Order. The unedited call was initially held back to protect Gail's settlement with WalMart. Months later, David posted a reply:

“The phone call has been altered and not an accurate transcript of what was said. These are sick people that are messing with a woman that has personal issues. I received this harassing phone call in the middle of the night from a sick individual.”

The fact that the story version of the call was edited is obvious. David, in his comment on the video, was perhaps intending to imply that his side was also fabricated. Unfortunately for David, nobody was convinced.

Currently

David laid out a wealth of information about himself in his pursuit to ruin Gail's life. He lives with his new wife, Vivian Schuler, who he met while in the Coast Guard after receiving a call about a beached whale. The couple has been happily together ever since he rescued her. Strangely, his spouse never accompanies him on the long hikes he goes on with young boys in the mountains. This type of closet gay behavior is similar to what he did with Gail when he joined the Coast Guard and disappeared for months at a time on trips with males half his age, meanwhile having extremely little sex with Gail and not complaining when it stopped. He was also perfectly fine with having one child despite his initial insistence for a family, which in retrospect was probably just to prove that he consummated his marriage.
